[Ruby’s comment

The Quran, repeatedly, alludes to the power of the faculty of reason in achieving faith. One to receive Truth, he/she has to be first humble, upright, willing, and attentive to receive Guidance from God in sensing truth in the physical world and in the events of life, past and present. Glaring miracles are not given importance in Islam – and are not often used – because it does not need the exercise of the faculty of reason to convince any one of the Truth. Islam places paramount importance on reason as it enables one sense truth. The faculty of “fitra” that God has empowered humans with consists of the ability to reason, intuitive and spiritual power, etc. that can sense truth and discern right from wrong. Truth is inscribed in the entire reality if one is willing to see it exercising these abilities. In Islam therefore faith cannot be imposed or enforced [2:256], in order for a faith to be valid it has to be based on reason that convinces a mind of its true merit. The covenant with God or obligation towards Him arises from this ability God has given humans to sense truth. Therefore using reason in faith is paramount in Islam. Miracles do not require reason. Miracle is downplayed in Islam. The only miracle Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] is given is his life is this Quran. True success in life can be achieved as one’s faith strengthens through reason. ]

Ruby’s note – A human being is not going to have direct experience of God’s presence except after death. The prophets, however, got revelations and some kind of indirect experiences of God’s existence. However, God has written his presence in reality and given the capacity, that is the faculty of REASON, to decipher the signs and messages written in reality of God’s existence.

The Message is there and the recipients’ capacity to receive the Message is also there. The roadblock to that process of understanding is arrogance and corruption of one’s inner-self.

The purer is the soul, the better is one connected to decipher the Message inscribed in reality. Therefore one who rejects God’s existence is far lost in corruption: the Quran call them deaf and blind whose sense is lost and heart is sealed.]
