26. Surah Al Shu'ara'

The Quranic Text & Ali’s Version:

وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ ﴿٨٤﴾

26: 84. "Grant me honorable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);

وَاجْعَلْنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ ﴿٨٥﴾

26: 85. "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss;

وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ ﴿٨٦﴾

26: 86. "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray;

وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ ﴿٨٧﴾

26: 87. "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up --

Asad’s Version:

(26:84) and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me,"

(26:85) and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss!

(26:86) "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 40 –
