6. Sura al-Anam
The Quranic Text & Ali’s Version:
قُلْ
سِيرُواْ فِي
الأَرْضِ ثُمَّ
انظُرُواْ
كَيْفَ كَانَ
عَاقِبَةُ
الْمُكَذِّبِينَ
﴿١١﴾
6: 11. Say: "Travel through the earth and see what was the end of those who rejected truth."
Asad’s Version:
6: 11 Say: “Go all over the earth, and behold what happened in the end to those who gave the lie to the truth!”
14. Surah Ibrahim
The Quranic Text & Ali’s Version:
وَسَكَنتُمْ
فِي مَسَـاكِنِ
الَّذِينَ
ظَلَمُواْ
أَنفُسَهُمْ...
14: 45. "And ye dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged their own souls:
...وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ...
ye were clearly shown how We dealt with them;
...وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ الأَمْثَالَ ﴿٤٥﴾
and We put forth many parables in your behalf!"
وَقَدْ مَكَرُواْ
مَكْرَهُمْ
وَعِندَ اللّهِ
مَكْرُهُمْ...
14: 46. Mighty indeed were the plots which they made, but their plots were (well) within the sight of Allah,
...وَإِن كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ الْجِبَالُ ﴿٤٦﴾
even though they were such as to shake the hills!

Yusuf Ali "And ye dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged their own souls: ye were clearly shown how We dealt with them; and We put forth many parables in your behalf!"
Pickthall And (have ye not) dwelt in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves (of old) and (hath it not) become plain to you how We dealt with them, and made examples for you?
Transliteration Wa sakantum fi masa_kinil lazina zalamu_ anfusahum wa tabayyana lakum kaifa fa'alna_ bihim wa darabna_ lakumul amsa_l(a).
14: 46
Yusuf Ali Mighty indeed were the plots which they made but their plots were (well) within the sight of Allah even though they were such as to shake the hills!
Pickthall Verily they have plotted their plot, and their plot is with Allah, though their plot were one whereby the mountains should be moved.
Transliteration Wa qad makaru_ makrahum wa 'indalla_hi makruhum, wa in ka_na makruhum litazu_la minhul jiba_l(u).
