مَا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبْلِكَ...
41: 43. Nothing is said to thee that was not said to the messengers before thee:
C4515. The gist of Allah's Message, now, before, and for ever, is the same: Mercy to the erring and repentant; just punishment to those who willfully rebel against Allah.
...إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴿٤٣﴾
That thy Lord has at His command (all) Forgiveness as well as a most Grievous Penalty.
Transliteration Ma_ yuqa_lu laka il la_ ma_ qad qila lir rusuli min qablik in na rab baka lazu_ magfiratiw wa zu_ iqa_bin alim

[And as for thee, O Prophet,] nothing is being said to thee but what was said to all [of God’s] apostles before thy time. Behold, thy Sustainer is indeed full of forgiveness - but He has also the power to requite most grievously! |

Naught is said unto thee (Muhammad) save what was said unto the messengers before thee. Lo! thy Lord is owner of forgiveness, and owner (also) of dire punishment. |

Naught is said to you but what was said indeed to the messengers before you; surely your Lord is the Lord of forgiveness and the Lord of painful retribution. |

Nothing is said to thee but what, truly, was said to the Messengers before thee. Truly, thy Lord is, certainly, the Possessor of Forgiveness, and the Possessor of Painful Repayment. |

Nothing is said to you O Muhammad by your opponents who call you everything they could lay their tongues to that was not said to Messengers sent before you. Indeed Allah, your Creator, has on hand mercy and forgiveness and He has on hand also condign punishment. |

What is being said to you is the same that was said to the messengers before you. Your Lord has forgiveness, and a painful retribution. |

|
[should remember that] you [Prophet] are not told anything that the previous messengers were not told: your Lord is a Lord of forgiveness, but also of painful punishment. |

[ Ali’s notes: 131 The whole of the Children of Israel are called to witness one of their slogans, that they worshipped "the God of their fathers." The idea in their minds got narrowed down to that of a tribal God. But they are reminded that their ancestors had the principle of Islam in them - the worship of the One True and Universal God. The death-bed scene is described in Jewish tradition. (2.133)
"Fathers" means ancestors, and include uncles, grand-uncles, as well as direct ascendants. (2.133)]
[ Ruby’s note: In deathbed one generally talks about the most important ideas and lessons for one’s progeny, here believing in One God and Submission to Him is the only thing that is being mentioned here to convey that. No other instruction or world of wisdom can parallel that. It portrays the essence of faith in Islam. If one believes in God that is the quintessential idea of a religion. If one believes in One God knows He is the Cause, Sustainer of the reality. He is the Almighty and He is the Truth. If this center is fixated in ones frame of mind, then the rest follows as a logical way and all other ideas and actions emanates from this central idea. ]
