LIFE HERE - General
3: 14 Alluring unto man is enjoyment of worldly desires through women, and children, and heaped-up treasures of gold and siver, …………….but most beauteous
of all goals is with God.
3: 89 But excepted shall be they that afterwards ( denying the truth, see 3: 86 – 88) repent and put themselves to rights: for behold, God is much forgiving , a dispenser of grace.
4: 176 They will ask thee to enlighten them. Say....(brother sisters inheritance when no children ).....God makes [all things] clear unto you, lest you go astray; and God knows everything.
Interweaving moral exhortation with practical legislation: and this in pursuance of the teaching that man’s life – spiritual and physical, individual and social – is one integral whole, and therefore require simultaneous consideration of all its aspects if the concept of “ the good life” is to be realized.
5: 1 O you who believe! Fulfill (all) obligations. Ali
5:1 O you who have attained to faith! Be true to your covenants! Asad
[Note 1: The term ‘aqd’ (covenant) denotes a solemn undertaking or engagement involving more than one party. According to Raghib, the covenant referred to in this verse ‘are of three kinds: the covenants between God and man, between man and his soul, and between the individual and his fellow-men” – thus embracing the entire area of man’s moral and social responsibilities.]
5:6 ......God does not want to impose any hardship on you, but wants to make you pure, and to bestow upon you the full measure of His blessings, so that you might have cause to be grateful.
5: 93 Those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds incur no sin by partaking of whatever they may, so long as they are conscious of God and [truly] believe and do righteous deeds, and continue to be conscious of God and to believe, and grow ever more conscious of God, and persevere in doing good: for God loves the doers of good.
6: 60 And he it is who causes you to be [like] dead at night, and knows what you work in daytime; and He brings you back to life each day in order that a term set [by Him] be fulfilled. In the end, unto Him you must return: and then He will make you understand all that you were doing [in life].
6: 61 And He alone holds sway over His servants. And He sends forth heavenly forces to watch over you until, when death approaches any of you, Our messengers cause him to die: and they do not overlook [anyone]. Asad
6: 61 he is Irresistible, (watching) from above over His worshippers, and He sets guardians over you. At length, when death approaches one of you, Our angels take his soul, and they never fail in their duty. Ali
6: 62 And they [who have died] are thereupon brought before God, their true Lord Supreme. Oh, verily, His alone is all judgment: and He is the swiftest of all reckoners! Asad
6: 62 Then are men returned unto Allah, their True Protector, surely His is the Command, and He is the Swiftest in taking account.Ali
6: 160-3 Those who have made division in their religion and become sects, you are not of them in anything; their affair is unto God, then He will tell them what they have been doing…
Say: “As for me, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, a right religion, the creed of Abraham, a man of pure faith [hanif]; he was no idolater.”
Say: ‘My prayer, my ritual sacrifice, my living, my dying – all belongs to God, the Lord of all being. No associate has He. Even so I have been commanded, and I am the first of those that surrender.’
Say: ‘shall I seek after a lord other than God, who is the Lord of all things?’

Ali The likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth which provides food for men and animals: (it grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think they have all powers of disposal over it: there reaches it Our command by night or by day and We make it like a harvest clean-mown as if it had not flourished only the day before! Thus do We explain the Signs in detail for those who reflect.
Asad The parable of this life of this world is but that of rain which We send down from the sky, and which is absorbed by the plants of the earth whereof men and animals draw nourishment, until – when the earth has assumed its artful adornment and has been embellished, and they who dwell on it believe that they have gained mastery over it – there comes down upon it Our judgment, by night or by day, and We cause it to become a field mown down, as if there had been no yesterday. Thus clearly do We spell out these messages unto people who think!
Pickthall The similitude of the life of the world is only as water which We send down from the sky, then the earth's growth of that which men and cattle eat mingleth with it till, when the earth hath taken on her ornaments and is embellished, and her people deem that they are masters of her, Our commandment cometh by night or by day and we make it as reaped corn as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do We expound the revelations for people who reflect.
Yuksel When Humans Are Intoxicated With Arrogance Because of Their Technological Achievements
10:24 The example of the worldly life is like water which has come down from the sky; it mixed with the plants of the earth from what people and the livestock eat. Then the earth takes its attractions and becomes glamorous, and its inhabitants think that they have mastered it. Then Our judgment comes by night or by day, so We make it a wasteland as if it never prospered yesterday! It is such that We clarify the signs to a people who think.*
Transliteration Innama_ masalul haya_tid dunya_ ka ma_'in anzalna_hu minas sama_'i fa-khtalata bihi naba_tul ardi mimma_ ya'kulun na_su wal an'a_m(u), hatta_ iza_ akhazatil ardu zukhrufaha_ wa-zzayyanat wa zanna ahluha_ annahum qa_diru_na 'alaiha_ ata_ha_ amruna_ lailan au naha_ran fa ja'alna_ha_ hasidan ka allam tagna bil ams(i), kaza_lika nufassilul a_ya_ti li qaumiy yatafakkaru_n(a).

52: 21 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith …We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste : every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned.
57: 20 Know that the life of this world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in respect and wealth and children as the likeness of vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the husbandman, but after ward it drieth up and thou seest it turning yellow, then it becomes straw. And in the Hereafter there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but matter of illusion.

57: 22 No calamity can ever befall the earth, and neither your own selves, unless it be in Our decree before We bring it into being: verily, all this is easy for God.
57:23 (Know this) so that you may not despair over whatever (good) has escaped you nor exult (unduly) over whatever (good) has come to you: for God does not love any of those who , out of self-conceit, act in a boastful manner - those who are niggardly with God's bounty and bid others to be niggardly.
57: 27 …….Jesus, the son of Mary, upon whom We bestowed the Gospel' and the hearts of those who followed him We engendered compassion and mercy. But as for monastic asceticism - We did not enjoin it upon them……
they invented it themselves out of a desire for God's goodly acceptance. But then , they did not observe it as it ought to have been observed: and so We granted their recompense unto such of them as had (truly) attain to faith, whereas many of them became iniquitous.
