Asad and then eat of all manner of fruit, and follow humbly the paths ordained for you by your Sustainer.” [And lo!] there issues from within these a fluid of many hues, wherein there is health for man. In all this, behold, there is a message indeed for people who think!

Yusuf Ali Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth) and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colors wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.

Pickthall Then eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of thy Lord, made smooth (for thee). There cometh forth from their bellies a drink diverse of hues, wherein is healing for mankind. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect.

Transliteration Summa kuli min kullis samara_ti fa-sluki subula rabbiki zulula_(n), yakhruju mim butu_niha_ syara_bum mukhtalifun alwa_nuh(u_), fihi syifa_'ul lin na_s(i), inna fi za_lika la a_yatal liqaumiy yatafakkaru_n(a).

And their entire existence and activities are geared towards this goal, including the amazing hexagonal hive with was to produce and retain honey most efficiently. 16: 72

Asad And God has given you mates of your kind and has given you, through your mates, children and children’s children, and has provided for you sustenance out of the good things of life. Will men, then believe in things false and vain, and thus blaspheme against God’s blessings?

Yusuf Ali And Allah has made for you mates (and companions) of your own nature. And made for you out of them sons and daughters and grandchildren and provided for you sustenance of the best: will they then believe in vain things and be ungrateful for Allah's favors?

Pickthall And Allah hath given you wives of your own kind, and hath given you, from your wives, sons and grandsons, and hath made provision of good things for you. Is it then in vanity that they believe and in the grace of Allah that they disbelieve?

Transliteration Walla_hu ja'ala lakum min anfusikum azwa_jaw wa ja'ala lakum min azwa_jikum banina wa hafadataw wa razaqakum minat tayyiba_t(i), afabil ba_tili yu'minu_na wa bini'matilla_hi hum yakfuru_n(a).

The term ZAWS denotes not only “A PAIR” or “a couple” but also – as in this instance – “one of a pair” or a “a mate” of the opposite sex; hence, with reference to human beings, the plural AZWAS signifies both “husbands” and “wives”.]

Just as the sons (first mentioned) should be a source of strength, so daughters and grandchildren should serve and contribute to the happiness of fathers and grandparents, and are to be looked upon as further blessings.]

16: 80

Yusuf Ali It is Allah who made your habitations homes of rest and quiet for you; and made for you out of the skins of animals (tents for) dwellings which ye find so light (and handy) when ye travel and when ye stop (in your travels); and out of their wool and their soft fibers (between wool and hair) and their hair rich stuff and articles of convenience (to serve you) for a time.

Pickthall And Allah hath given you in your houses an abode, and hath given you (also), of the hides of cattle, houses which ye find light (to carry) on the day of migration and on the day of pitching camp; and of their wool and their fur and their hair, caparison and comfort for a while.

Transliteration Walla_hu ja'ala lakum mim buyu_tikum sakanaw wa ja'ala lakum min julu_dil an'a_mi buyu_tan tastakhiffu_naha_ yauma za'nikum wa yauma iqa_matikum, wa min aswa_fiha_ wa adba_riha_ wa asy'a_riha_ asa_saw wa mata_'an ila_ hin(in).

16: 81

Asad And among the many objects of His creation, God has appointed for you [various] means of protection: thus, He has given you in the mountains places of shelter, and has endowed with [the ability to make] garments to protect you from heat [and cold], as well as such garments as might protect you from your [mutual] violence. In this way does He bestow the full measure of His blessings on you, so that you might surrender yourselves unto Him.

Yusuf Ali It is Allah who made out of the things He created some things to give you shade; of the hills He made some for your shelter; He made you garments to protect you from heat and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He complete his favors on you that ye may bow to His will (in Islam).

Pickthall And Allah hath given you, of that which He hath created, shelter from the sun; and hath given you places of refuge in the mountains, and hath given you coats to ward off the heat from you, and coats (of armor) to save you from your own foolhardiness. Thus doth He perfect His favor unto you, in order that ye may surrender (unto Him).

Yuksel God has made for you shade from what He created. He made from the mountains a refuge for you. He made for you garments which protect you from the heat, and garments which protect you from attack. It is such that He completes His blessing upon you, that you may peacefully surrender.

Transliteration Walla_hu ja'ala lakum mimma_ khalaqa zila_law wa ja'ala lakum minal jiba_li akna_naw wa ja'ala lakum sara_bila taqikumul harra wa sara_bila taqikum ba'sakum, kaza_lika yutimmu ni'matahu_ 'alaikum la'allakum tuslimu_n(a).

17: 20 [al-Israa, Mecca 50 ]

Yusuf Ali Of the bounties of thy Lord We bestow freely on all these as well as those: the bounties of thy Lord are not closed (to anyone).

Pickthall Each do We supply, both these and those, from the bounty of thy Lord. And the bounty of thy Lord can never be walled up.

Transliteration Kullan numiddu ha_'ula_'i wa ha_'ula_'i min 'ata_'i rabbik(a), wa ma_ ka_na 'ata_'u rabbika mahzu_ra_(n).
