5. Surah al-Maida, Medina 112

The Quranic Text & Ali’s Version:

اعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ ...

5: 98. Know ye that Allah is strict in punishment

... وَأَنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿٩٨﴾

and that Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Transliteration I'lamu_ annalla_ha syadidul 'iqa_b(i), wa annalla_ha gafu_rur rahim(un).

Pickthall’s Version:

Pickthall Know that Allah is severe in punishment, but that Allah (also) is Forgiving, Merciful.
